Booking through Thursday: Learning
Do you remember learning to read? What’s your earliest reading memory?
This is complicated. The earliest I remember how to read is by watching Sesame Street and other Jim Henson's production when I was a toddler. They had this letter of the day and counting segments on the shows, and it just absorbed me. I remember sitting in front of the tv each time during The StoryTeller, and Narnia series (I think it was the best one ever made from the books).
My earliest book would be a "Dictionary". A plain old dictionary which belonged to my mom and I would have fun coloring the pictures in it while I learn how to read. I guess that don't count. I remember reading LadyBird series when I was a kid before school. I even have Classics for the young, like Oliver Twist, Gulliver's Travel and The Three Musketeers, which are my total favorite then.
I also remember reading my text books and workbooks on whatever I could grab with my hands, which of course I ended up very bored at school cause I know them books back to back due to repetitive reading cause I ran out of things to read at home.

I remember watching Sesame Street, too! Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteSesame Street was awesome. I loved the Count and Oscar the most. As for the other titles, Gulliver's Travels was my favorite. I think the little people were hard to resist. Thanks for visiting! :)
ReplyDeleteI love love love the Muppets. I miss Jim Henson.
