Musing Monday: My Shelves
What does your bookshelf (or, what do your bookshelves) say about you to the people who come into your home?
Well.. I say the first thing they would thing about is... damn that's a lot of books! and they be thinking I probably run a small library or something. I will try to read them all! >.< Running through my shelves they be seeing Horrors mostly, Mystery, then Science fiction & Fantasy, Young adults for a bit. Of course they would be series! Alot of it! I also have a bunch of graphic novels. All of which are modern Shakespearean. And then there's a few non-fiction, mostly on religion stuff, which I pull and read every one other day. There's history books, I have this special spot for Egyptology, Rome, Greek and Ancient Civilization, which you can't budge me off. Then there are books on writing. I used to write and still write when I have the time, ended up having all these books on writing stock-up for reference. Yes, my TBRs can build a small house and quite overwhelming for the rest of the folks. But I can say is, I have this nagging nerve of what if I ran out of books... what would I be reading?! *panic ensues* call me crazy but any other readers would probably have that coming. Can I read it call? Perhaps, maybe... I always read wherever and whenever I could every single day, so I probably reduce that pile for a while. But it is always growing. *whispers* It's a living growing monster [[LOOK!]]
People might think I'm crazy with my books, but only other readers enthusiasts who actually understands me. But it's one of my passion. I love to read, I love them books. It's not like it's an evil thing.

I like this post - I just moved and the previous owners left all of the books. I wrote a post (will post in a week or two) about what I have learned from the book of the shelves.
ReplyDeleteNo one appreciates a book collection most than it's owner.... this much I can confirm.
