Once upon a time, there was a girl named Melur lives with her step-mother, Mak Embun and her step-sister Kembang. Melur does every chore in the house as her step family abused her. Once day, they wish to kick Melur out of the house but has no idea how until one day they came up with a plan.

Quote:
Melur pun berlari-lari ke hilir sungai.
Dia menyeru ibunya:
   Mak-mak, buyungku hanyut,
   turut dayang turut,
   makin turut, semakin jauh

Why did i pick it up?
I was cataloging and waiting for the system to get ready

My 2 ¢ ♠♠♠♠♠This is another typical Cinderella sort of story. It’s an easy short story to read for the kids that could run for an easy 30 minutes class.  It’s a morale tale of do good deeds and receive good rewards.  Do other wise, and get likewise. Cute beautiful duo-tone illustrations an pretty much a straight forward easy understanding of the book itself

J.J. Tully is a former search-and-rescue dog who is trying to enjoy his retirement after years of performing daring missions saving lives. So he’s not terribly impressed when two chicks named Dirt and Sugar (who look like popcorn on legs), along with their chicken mom, show up demanding his help to track down their missing siblings. Driven by the promise of a cheeseburger, J.J. begins to track down clues. Is Vince the Funnel hiding something? Are there dark forces at work—or is J.J. not smelling the evidence that’s right in front of him?
Bestselling author Doreen Cronin uses her deadpan humor to pitch-perfect effect in her first novel for young readers. Heavily illustrated with black-and-white artwork from new talent Kevin Cornell, this new series is sure to be a favorite.

My 2 ¢ ♠♠♠♠♠This is an absolutely cute book. I LOVE IT! It is fill with wonderful illustration that could make me giggle because of of its cuteness and the clever plots that keeps it’s readers reading. If you like to dive any body young into the world of mystery, I suggest trying this out as one of their first reads. It would be a wonderful introduction for them into the genre. The characters are just quirky each of their own, so they each could carry their own.

I do hope there’s another book out with the chickens and Tully in it. I was left wanting for more.

Honestly, if you have younger early readers or reluctant reader who you wish to introduce the mystery genre, PICK THIS UP! PICK IT! You will love it, they will love it.

Review: Bunnicula Series; James Howe - It's a Bunny-hop Horror!

If you like vampires and you also love oh that sweet sweet hopping cuddly rabbits. For this horror season, I suggest in reading the Bunnicula series.

Book Description
Bunnicular Series
Author: James Howe & Deborah Howe
Genre: Children Horror

It featured a bunny which has strange eating habits and vampire-like qualities, yet, nobody is in absolute danger at all. He came to the Monroe household in the middle of a stormy night (yes cliché, but what can I say, it’s cute), who was found by Toby at the theater which in coincidence, was showing Dracula. Let it be known, Bunnicular has fangs instead of buck teeth, which enable him to suck the juice out of them vegetables. Then, There’s Chester, who suspected their new found resident was kinda odd and as soon as he realized Bunnicula isn’t a normal bunny, he is convinced, they are all in mortal danger and doing whatever he could to destroy Bunnicular!

Honestly, I do wish I have read this when I was still at school, but it is still an awesome read when I’ve discovered this series last year or so. I guess it’s enjoyable no matter what your age is. It’s  a fast read which is also a page turner, which means it would grab the attention of the reluctant readers.
