Here Are 50 Simple Pleasures In Life For a High School Student

Here are fifty things you know you find enjoyable, you just may or may not admit to them. These are the things students don't pay enough attention to. :)

Watching others fall.
Watching others fail.
Seeing others do worse than you on tests.
Hoping others do worse than you on tests.
Hearing unfortunate events, laughing at them thinking they are jokes, then finding out that they are not.
Defecation.
Eating.
Getting high (presumably...).
Jaywalking.
Having friends.
Seeing someone without friends.
Laughing.
Laughing at someone.
Urination.
Urination after a prolonged urge to hold it in.
Getting an A if you're Asian.
Getting a B if you're not.
Getting a C if you're...[insert ethnicity you believe to stereotypically get this grade].
Being liked by a teacher.
Being the teacher's pet
Sleeping for more than 3 hours if you're studious.
Sleeping for more than 3 hours if you partied the night before.
No homework.
No tests the next day.
The last day of school.
Taking ten minutes to "get a drink of water."
Passing notes to people.
Seeing the teacher give the wrong notes.
Watching a teacher have a breakdown because he/she did not prepare the lecture well enough.
Watching a student question a teacher's notes.
Watching the teacher have no response.
In-class video!!
With no worksheet!!!
Substitute who tries to give a lecture on something never seen before.
Learning more from said sub than the actual teacher.
Watching student get mocked by teacher.
Field trip!!
Senior skip day!!
Getting late to class but acting like you weren't.
Blurting out answers.
Doing easy math in Calculus class.
Outsmarting the Psych teacher.
Getting better lab results than your Chem teacher
Spinning pens in English.
Trying to spin pens in English.
Throwing racial slurs at people of your own race in front of people of another race. Their faces are priceless.
Handing in a rough draft and getting a better score than someone who worked their butt off.
Discussing Harry Potter or Twilight in English.
Swearing because you feel more powerful.
Being a rectum.

Now.. How many of you still have this after graduating from high school? hehehe

Review: Confetti Cakes for Kids

I've picked up this book for fun and the book cover was quite cute and enticing. Mind you, my excuse was that I wanted to get it for my mum but this ended up as one of the family favorite book to grab. Let's see... how can I play this review about. It's filled with exploding colors of cake decorations and ideas, most of it is surprising easy enough (with practice) to do with kids and as a beginner book.

The things included in this book are pictorial instructions and the equipments for use. The step by step are truly easy for any beginner in any age at all.

It's purely simple:
- if you like cakes
- if you like fondue
- if you like making fondue cakes and has a curiosities wanting to make them.
- If you have no idea how to make fondue cakes and wants to play around with the skill

This would be the book for you.

Unless you're very organized to the T I suggest everybody get one of this. I was reading through this for personal use because I feel like i have 10s of things to do in one time and I needed tips. This book actually offered tips, tricks and suggestions on how to manage your busy life. Personally, I like to put this on my Reference shelf so I can just pull and look through anytime I like.

Dewey’s 24 Hour #ReadaThon: 1st Hour!

Good evening all! It’s 8:35pm and I am 35 mins late into the Read-A-Thon due to work related stuff, but I’m here! And from what I see, we’re starting the kick off with with a survey!

1. Where are you reading from today? Brunei, In the South East Asia

2. Three random facts about me…
     a) A High School librarian, specialized in YA and Children genre.
    b) I read with my iPhone, Sony 505 and laptop besides reading Hardback or paperback.
     c) Beansprouts is so.. not my thing. >.<

3. How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? Just one but I’ll see if I can have more.

4. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? Hope to read more than 1 book is my main goal! and I got to finish that book as well!

5. If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time? Remember to take a drink, eat and put down your book once a while and walk around. Ohh.. bathroom is essential.

Book Review: The Last Straw; By Jeff Kinney

Another great sequel to the wonderful series. Loving it. It’s pretty much going strong here. I can’t help feeling this is one of those new age books for reluctant readers…. with hidden moral agenda in it *snickers* I just love books that would sink good moral issues silently.

To me, Greg is a typical student, with typical aspiration, with typical need to get himself some attention. Nevertheless, what grabs you into loving this book is how most of us could relate to him, young or adult. This was another one hour or so read, if you life a quickie, this series would be a giggle tickle for your need. A wonderful page turner and yes it’s another favorite material.

First Sentence. New Year's Day You know how you're supposed to come up with a list of "resolutions" at the beginning of the year to try to make yourself a better person?

Quote. I didn't really know what to expect from detention but when I walked into the room, the first thought I had was, I don't belong in here with these future criminals.

Review: The Big Split

I was actually reading this on while I was cataloging it at work. I was looking and reading through it just to know if it's suitable or what's it's about so I know, who I can refer this to and who would be interested if they like to read it. Not to mentioned I was checking out the reading level.

Anyhoo, It was about a kid, whose parents got a divorce that was unexpected and she had noone but her older sister to confide into. Her older sister is as confuse and hurt as it goes too.

It is a quick read (finished it under an hour). It is suitable for kids who are going through through a "divorced situations" and have a "connection" to how they feel with something, someone.

I hate this book! I hate this book! I hate this book! Why because it just ended and what the heck?!! Cliffhanger???!! Oh man!! Are you kidding me?! When is the next book? Oh man gahh!! Noo! Ahhh!! Now I'm frustrated!!

Ok a better review later. I just need to let that out first. YES!!! GAH!! Ouch cliffhanger is sooo bad!!! oh the stab... the stab in my chest for that cliffhanger... *Sobs*

Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon

It’s not me to actually pass the opportunity to join a Read-a-thon, but here I go again… the annual Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-thon is right at the corner and it’s on 9th April 2011! As for late there are around 340 bloggers who are joining the read-a-thon and all bloggers are welcome enough to join the event.

What exactly it is? a 24 hours of reading craziness. I admit I haven’t really stayed up a full 24 hrs for this event ever, but it is a good excuse (I ♥ having an excuse to Drop Everything And Read once a while.) but yes I love joining up this event when it comes around. Maybe this time I would read more than I did last year?

My friends, fellow bloggers and others, including me, usually use this opportunity to donate to a charity foundation or wherever else you like to donate. Either way it’s a wonderful event and I hope I can actually sit down and play with this =^_^=
