From Lisi Harrison, the New York Times bestselling author of The Clique and Alphas, comes a new series with a fresh twist on high school, romance, and the "horrors" of trying to fit in.

The monster community has kept a low profile at the local high school, but when two new girls enroll, the town will never be the same. Created just fifteen days ago, Frankie Stein is psyched to trade her father's formaldehyde-smelling basement lab for parties and prom.

But with a student body totally freaked out by rumors of monsters stalking the halls, Frankie learns that high school can be rough for a chic freak like her. She thinks she finds a friend in fellow new student Melody Carver-but can a "normie" be trusted with her big secret?

Quote
The articles were extremely eye-opening. Not just in Teen Vogue but in Seventeen and CosmoGirl as well. They all were about being yourself, Staying natural, loving your body as it is, and going green! The messages were the exact opposite of Vik and Viv’s.

Why did I pick it up?
I didn’t really pick this up to read immediately, more of after a while.. a bit while. *blinks* a lot more of than a while. The cover with the “pink” turned me off big time.

My 2 ¢ ♠♠♠♠♠Wow.. That’s my reaction after I put this book down. It’s like reading the Addams Family, but rather promoting discretion in community. Frankie, a young newly build Frankenstein, facing the community trying to be herself. All girl power enthusiast… then she had to go to school. She doesn’t like this at all! How frustrating it is to hide your true self… when you have high-esteem. Oh.. I tell you, Frankie does whatever it takes to keep her high-esteem but.. it’s hard. Then, there’s Melody, the spawn of Beverly Hills with her older hot sister moved in and went to the same school as Frankie. She has her own self-esteem issues, and she tried to fit in.

I can’t seem to put this book down and I’d had to finished it when I’ve started. Compulsion? Nope. More of a page turner. I did it wrong for judging it by its cover. The thought of living horrors living normal lives in our community is kind of funky.

Regardless of characters, the main issues address in this book is loud and clear featuring racial discrimination, social issues, teenage angst, you name it. Frankie and Melody are the characters teens nowadays could relate to and their parents are… the usual parents characters.

If you are into Frankenstein, vampires, werewolves, humans, and all sort of horrors, this is a good book for you.

A little note, I was looking for this book in the local bookstores the other day and it appall me to see, this book is NOT available for the locals. All I could think was WHY?! Best Eastern Bookstores in Brunei should get this one over for the teens and young adults. Thank you for my recommender for this one.

Librarian Muse
This is suitable for Secondary school kids, so get your paws on this one for your libraries. Public Libraries should get a few copies of this cause damn, this is one hell of a hot cake piece of fiction.
