01. New Year Read-A-Thon

This is a short read for a starter and quite hot for the ones who would like a Quickie for the day. I found this a look through looking for something quick to read and the cover was interesting enough for me to pick up.

Emma and Luke's baggage were accidentally switched bout and through their own quick lookie through each others baggage, they found some interesting insight on each others life. What seems to be a boring 3 days off station for Emma could be spent quite well and steamy indeed.

Book DescriptionBook Title: Switched
Author: Desire Holt
Publisher: Ellora's Cave Publishing [Buy It]
Genre: Erotica
ISBN: 9781419925078
MSRP/List Price: $8.90

Quote: Emma had never been in such a maelstrom of feelings. Blindfolded, seeing nothing, she could only feel, and that sense was highly intensified.

New Year Read-A-Thon

Ok I have trying to figure out if I should join New Year Read-A-Thon up or not, but what the heck, let's try. Info of the Read-a-thon can be read up at Bookworming in the 21st Century site:

Now, what is the Read-a-thon all about? Promoting reading in the new year - 2010!

Starts: 5 pm on Thursday, December 31st
Ends: 10 pm on Sunday, January 3rd

You can read as little or as much as you want! Also, I'm planning on having a smaller event called Reading Into the New Year - where us bookworms can read as it turns midnight! I will be posting the sign up for that event next. Please partake in either or both!!!

Let's see how many books I be reading after this is over.

  2. Blood & Honey by Alexa Aames

What are YOU reading?

Monday Musing: Book Buying Habits

This week, Rebecca asks:

This week's Monday Musing is being hosted by Mizb17

When you buy books, do they immediately go onto your bookshelf to wait until you’re ready to read them (even if that means months/years from then!), or do you read them right away? What makes you do this? If you’re a ’shelver’, why do you think you don’t read the books right away? Do you ever feel guilty for letting the books sit there, unread? If you’re a ‘read-em-now’ person, why do you feel they have to be read right away? Do you give away the books when you’re done, too?

My Reply:
*hides* Well most of the time, my newly bought books are still being kept in their own stores' plastic bag. It either ended up in the end of my bed, or on top of a book shelf, or on the table ready to be "Librarything". Some lucky ones would be read right away if it's one of those books I must read! If that act is being called a "shelver" that is. I probably don't read teh book right away because it is right under my Must read pile (it's like I have a bibliophile OCD thing.) Yes I do feel guilty for lettign the book sit there, unread. (I have alot of them piling up somewhere. I am also a "read-em-now" person for some books. Obly because if I am in the middle of a series and HAVE to know what's happening next. I try giving away books after I'm done. "Try" is the keyword.

A few moments later Claudio came down the corridor, his hair gleaming blue blac, light slithering and fracturing around his head.

"My Prince?"

"Find out what's in biscuits and send someone out for the ingredients. As a matter of fact, take the book I was reading on faeries and buy everything faeries like to eat."

Booking through Thursday: Bookmarks

Suggested by Tammy:

What items have you ever used as a bookmark? What is the most unusual item you’ve ever used or seen used?

I am a collector or bookmarks, but in the same time, I happened to keep loosing them o.0 I surely need a box for future keeps. Ok, I have a few items for use as a bookmark, but I usually ended up reaching whatever the closest there is that's on reach.

1. Real traditional bookmarks (which includes the memorandum collection of LotR, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Scorpio horoscope, Bookcrossing, Quotes, etc)
2. Used Prepaid phone cards
3. Cute tidbits cards I found while shopping.
4. Book thongs
5. random scraps of papers
6. Origami Heart and corner page pouch
7. Few DIY bookmarks given to me by craft students from school
8. The DIY Crosstitch bookmarks I've made
9. Laminated bookmarks (No Smoking - from school no smoking event, Cutout from mags, box cutouts, etc)

How about yours? I bet i can find more things to use as a bookmark =D

His body hummed with power, and thoughts were hard to organize. All he knew was that drinking from her was dangerous, but that he would never stop. He also knew he loved her, though that was further inside him, insulated from the raging energy pulsing through him.

A to Z Challenge

January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010.

How does this reading challenge work? Choose the option that works best for you...

Authors -- Read alphabetically by author. Commit to 26 books.
Titles -- Read alphabetically by title. Commit to 26 books.
Authors & Titles -- Commit to reading 52 books

How strict is the 26 or 52? I know it isn't always easy to find those difficult letters. The thought of finding the X's (for example) might scare folks away. It shouldn't! I'm a merciful host! (Ask anyone!)

If you want to give the X's a go... For authors, try to find an X in the first name, middle name, or last name. For titles, it doesn't have to be the starting word. Try to find an X somewhere in a title, and it'd count in my book.

Still can't find a book for the letter you need? I'll take your word for it. I've been there. I know. If your library doesn't see the need to order books just because it starts with an X, then I don't blame you for not wanting to special order a book that you may or may not enjoy. You gave it your best, don't feel bad. You can still make this challenge work for you.

I wish I read that Challenge

This challenge is for all those books you wish you'd read. It might be Pride and Prejudice, War and Peace, a Nora Roberts Romantic Suspense, the Outlander series or a childhood classic Winnie the Pooh. I have a very long list of books that I've been wanting to read for years, not to mention the list of books I've added to it since I've been blogging. These don't have to be books you currently own, you can buy them, borrow them or beg for them. This is a great challenge for getting those TBR piles reduced. So go have a look at what you might read and challenge yourself.

Challenge Guidelines:

1. Anyone can join. You don't need a blog to participate.
--Non-Bloggers: Include your information in the comment section.

2. There are four levels:

-- Curious – Read 3 books.

-- Fascinated – Read 6 books.

-- Addicted – Read 12 books.

-- Obsessed – Read 20 books.

3. Any book format counts.

4. You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you.

5. Challenge begins
January 1st thru December, 2010. Only books started on January 1st count towards this challenge.

6. When you sign up under Mr. Linky, put the direct link to the post about the Wish I'd Read That Challenge. Include the URL so that other participants can find join in and read your reviews and post.

The next day another big headline screamed from the front of The National News:

CLOUD OF SECRECY DESCENDS OVER SCHOOL

There was no photo of me this time, There was, however a subheading, also in big letters:

"Innocent Boy Terrorized by Security Guards."

Next to it was a picture of Tim.
